Future is legacy and past is history.
All we have is now.
There are others to come and others that are gone, but they are not now.
Important, yes, but giving up the note for their perceived importance is a fool’s journey.
Legacy comes from a fear of being forgotten. History is a fear of not remembering.
There is no illusion and no conspiracy if we live in the now.
There is a big difference in being cognizant of the future compared to worrying about our legacy.
Shakespeare has legacy and some doubt he existed as a single writer.
What does that matter if enjoying Shakespearean art in the now?
We will live better without so much focus on other times. We will live better if we stop lying about how good or bad now is in comparison to past or future, and just made now the best it can be.
